Old Musician's Recipie (Free verse) by GregDeEgg
Catch a sound hold it in turn the thimble o're again. Cup the top round and cold; metal copper smelling old. Feel the sound against your thumb rat'ling in the thimble's womb. Shake it till it turns to dust pour it out scrape off crust. Place the thimble on your finger twist it 'til the pressure lingers. Smash the dust beneath the thimble light a match the dust do kindle. Let it burn 'til half is left the pile ashy, black, and cleft. Stir the ashes brush them lightly sweep them up grasp them tightly. Take them to a dying closet lightbulb burnt and mothball posit. Grab a case familiar handle peeling leather wax from candles. Set it in the modern lighting flip the latch and open slightly. See the smells spill out the casing through the room with youthful lacing. Aging wood and velvet leather smells you thought were gone forever. Left behind when youth had died thoughts and feelings side by side. Spread the dust on guitair strings captured sound forever sings.
