Forbidden (Free verse) by prettykristah
?Why does this or that happen,? I would always ask you, No matter what it was you always knew. But arrogance overrode intelligence along the way, And my fascination faded one simple day. Comfort was my friend, it helped me so much, I used to crave the soft caress of your touch. Everyone knew me as your girlfriend, ?Why did you guys break up,? they couldn?t comprehend. I love being single, but sometimes it hurts, My greatest effort I must exert. To find everything I loved in someone new, Can you be replaced with words so true. It?s hard to keep going day after day, I get on my knees each night and pray. To find someone that touches my heart, To think of them always when we are apart. A new adventure has come my way, And I?ll try my best for him to stay. I?ve had a thing for him before, But there was always an iron door. A forbidden place from the very start, For he was a friend close to your heart. Sometimes I?m ashamed, the light I must dim, I?m sorry for ruining your friendship with him. But I cannot help who I have feelings for, Everyday that I am with him more and more. He tells me I am pretty and isn?t that sweet, Simple words make it complete. A year his elder, is it so wrong? But my feelings for him are too strong. We?re both really quiet, sometimes a task, ?Do I make you nervous,? I always ask. He replies ?No? with that adorable face, In his arms, a sweet embrace. He has the talent to go the LONG way, I look in his eyes and want to say. Ask me to be yours for my time here, And if you don?t I just might fear. To miss all the great things there are to you, You show me great affection, who would?ve knew? I never imagined for things to work out, But I?m glad that I chose the forbidden route.
