A teenager's thoughts on Waking up. (Free verse) by Jarah
I finally fall asleep, When I hear the familiar dinging of a bell, It makes me want to yell, It feels like I've just drifted off, And suddenly its through, Only I know how it feels, but what can I do? Maybe I'll just roll over and ignore it, And tell mom I missed the bus, Maybe I could fake a cough, No, that will cause too big of a fuss, What can I do, what should I do? What choices should I make? Should I get up and go to school? Or should I stay at home and fake? I know I'll get into trouble, If I go with #2, but like I've said before, What can I do? After too much thinking, The sleep will wear away, Maybe tomorrow I'll get that sleep, Maybe tomorrow I'll stay.
