On Looking Back at This Point in Time (Free verse) by toyrocker
It must taken a lot of courage for you to look behind
Although you fear what you know you'll find
To see what was your paradise in ruins and crumbles
And the halfhearted sighs and the thoughtless mumbles
When the running is easy, but the leaving troubles you
Leaving the things and places and people who shaped you
The dreams you had and the plans you made are slowly dragging you down
When you just feel like sinking, but you fear you may drown
Remember this my friend and remember it well
When you're reached rock bottom of your private hell
You can only go one way from there and that one way is up
And when you stand before the reflecting pool, fill your cup
When You can see your mistakes by the scars on your face
Those things are gone now like some great disgrace
The rest of your life is all that will last
So leave this place run and run fast
And when your past starts to gain ground
And you don't know why those memories come around
Savor the good times and wait for the bad times to pass
Because you can't see your future through a crystal glass
