affection wasted (Free verse) by milkymilk
I gave the world to you, I gave it all, and I gave my best
But what I receive is a sharp pain in my chest
I suggest to you what to do whenever you?re distressed
But you just make up excuses and treat me like a pest
There are times you did care though
But those times were rare
And I want you to know
All I wanted was for my life to share
I even sacrificed my best friend
And even so, he was still here right to the very end
But that pain when I had to
You just thought he was rude
The times I tried to help
And you said no one can help you
You can?t even appreciate how much I care for you
I?ve cried so many nights
I?ve been up so many nights hugging the pillow tight
And I?ve told you this
And still you didn?t appreciate
I loved you, I was there, and I cared
But all you did was cut off the leg of my chair
I wanted you to be happy, I wanted to make you happy
But all I did was made you sad and made myself crappy
You never listen to what I have to say
I try to suggest some things and you just turn them away
Why do you live in the past?
Time; it goes by very fast
But I guess you won?t even listen to what I just said
I?m tired of crying until my eyes turn blood red
Why do you think its pity?
And why are you so tired of this city?
Your right no one can understand
Therefore no one can help you
You even ignore my feeble attempts to try
But I guess your love was just a lie
You just wanted company
But you could have found it in your friends
They are the ones closer to you, their shoulders are their to lend
I even told you that
But I guess it doesn?t matter because you think all of them are rats
You don?t care about them
Obviously you don?t care about me either
And the times I cared for you that neither
Why do you think I take it so seriously?
Wouldn?t anyone who cared take it seriously?
I?ve said enough and I?ve cried enough girl
Just go out and have fun in the world
But listen to this and listen to this close
Treat the other guys better
Oh I?m sorry you don?t listen.
Because I don?t understand.
