Slippery Reprieve (Free verse) by Carvaceous
Morbid desires twist my fate in greased hands oiled to perfection Let stand what I know Don't decry hope It may fall to be From the start of my end What's left of shattered egos crushed underfoot Damn these boots! Such morose thoughts Hide them quickly! Shelve them up behind the pristine figurines The ones which glisten in the eve By the candlelight which parades and alights Allowing me reprieve at least for the moment
