To Step Aside And See You Smile (Other) by LovingWhispers
I dreamed of being your lover Holding you while you sleep I prayed one day you'd respond to me And share feelings just as deep I smiled at the thought of pleasing you Showing care, and gaining your trust I've always held onto the tiniest of hope That there would be such moments for us Everyday I would sit and wonder Just how I could make it all right Give you the happiness that you deserve In your darkness,to be your light How sad it made me in my heart To see you when you were down But I guess all you need,I can't provide So it's good you'll have her around She'll be the one to make you smile And see the happiness in your eyes When things get you down, she'll be around Someone to turn to,a place to confide Every night she'll see you after work As you walk through the door Comforting you, seeing you through A friend who'll reassure I cannot give these things you need No matter how much I want to inside As happy as I am that she makes it better My hurt is not easy to hide Yet I am here, while she is there And there's nothing I can do Except to say I wish it were me Instead of her, taking care of you But because I love you my blue eyes I must let this hurt just be So long as you find your sunshine That's all that matters to me Just know I wanted to give you the sun To warm your soul with my touch I wanted so selfishly to be the one Because I love you so very much
