Why Should I Care (Free verse) by DolphnLvr82
"He's not the one for you," "He'll just break your heart," That what everyone told me, But why should I care? We didn't know each other very well, and I was scared... scared of having someone, and scared of being alone forever So I took a chance leaving room for plenty of regrets. But that's the chance I wanted to take. Besides, why should I care? You made me so happy, and I wanted to spend every moment right by your side. Hold you tight and never let go. You wanted to take a step further, one I wasn't sure of making. But if it meant keeping you near, Why should I care? We took a step and then a giant leap, Causing me to fall head over feet. You told me you loved me, and I said the same. As time went on we did too, and somehow we grew apart. My friends were right and I was wrong, But why should I care? Feelings of hatred overcame my soul, and I foolishly blamed them. I felt like they wanted it to happen, and could care less how I felt. My friends were there for me though, every step of the way. Taking me out and keeping me strong. Now I know why I should care. Now more time has went by, and here you come back in my life. You say you have changed, and you love me more than anything. Well,I loved you more than life, and you turned me away. Now I'm happy and found someone new, SO tell me why should I care about you?
