Head-on Collision (True story) (Free verse) by t_t_redhot
I see it happen so very fast. Head-on collision, drunk driver. Pulling to a stop, a baby is crying. Glass is everwhere. The drunk is out of his car. Compound fracture, Femur sticking through is cloths. I go for the baby, she seems to be ok. Reaching for me crying, I have to help her. I look up, another child 50 ft away. Running to her, in hope, all hope is lost. In a pool of blood, I check for a pulse. Nothing, so I have move on. In the driver's seat, a man with no face. In the passanger seat, a woman with no scalp. The car is crushed, I can't get in to help. People are all around, crying, calling 911, in panic. Help arives, they ask me question. The drunk tries to lie. I tell the truth, in pure anger. They drive off, no lights on. All is lost, because of a drunk. This is a true story, oddly enough it happened on halloween.
