Clinging to....Life? (Lyric) by sliver
How does fate know? This one stays, but she has to go. It can't possibly be random, An arbitrary taking of life. Pain and sadness are part of living, I've accepted that as a fact, Yet still, when every day is done My tears moisten the curtain of night. Often, when I drift away, I can hear her voice and it seems to say Slip a little deeper, darling Just keep slipping my way. But I wake with a start, To this familiar ach in my heart. And a deep seated need to cling To this flimsy existance each morning brings. You see, it isn't really life, Although my body continues to breath, Because I'm not there with her, And she's not here with me.
