Molecular Eclipse (Free verse) by Enkidu
The motive of the makers
To partake in this endeavor
Levers bending from the pressure
To surmount their predecessors
Lying in wait
Feeling caged by the fate
Of our actions
Our reactions when
The people we know go to great lengths
My think tank
Is running on empty
While I wait on the mechanic
Sabotaging my high beams
I scream in my dreams
And it seems so unlikely
That my enemies like me
That in spite of me
The world will go on
And that songs
Will sing the praises of dead men
Caressed by the blade when
They chose to brandish honed
and much more dangerous weapons
The pen prose and poetry
Created from the liberty
To write what we want to
And bite what we can't chew
Settling for children's books
Just staring at the pictures
Picture this for a millisecond
Life is just a comma
In the book of Time's initial sentence
Pouring on the karma
Look out
It's a shaft of light
Pouring in through your pores
Shining right through our doors
But on a basic level
Darkness rules the cells forever
Prisoners conditioned to be
Martyred by the missions
We just might not agree with
Watching as destruction falls from the lips
Of leaders leading us in line
To a molecular eclipse
It fits
