Morning Maid (Free verse) by Enkidu
Ivory, iron, aluminum, glass Statues of nothingness Particles pass In through the front and out Through streaming smoke Breathe candor and reek elation Probe hearths for heart's salvation Cowards court cranes Whilst children gather arms And rabbits run Go in greens and come in white Pull the stitching from the night Bet the garden's gain and celebrate The harvest Drink iris and shout kisses Poke fun at the misses Be weary for an instant's injury As we chase attraction with satin smiles Quit the mob and be little rings On the fingers of kings Sell hellos by the barrow in Sunday shade Elicit glances from the morning maid And cover Each other With flowers from a robin's grave
