fear (Free verse) by BrendanElder
Darkness decends upon the land, gripping the skys in it's cold hand. Shadows seeping into my soul with the fleeting light, Wandering off from the crowd, so no one may see my hearts plight. My spirit reaches out to find yours, do you feel my touch? In any other world, would you find you need me as much ? Would my heart bleed any less, if I could truly hold you in my arms? Would your soul cry for more, or perhaps a younger man ? If I could but give you all that I see in my dreams, maybe then you would understand the silent cries that that oft become screams. I love you, I need you. Mere words so often spoken, pain and betayal of a haunting past make them mere token. Loving you, feeling you, wanting so much to heal you, Knowing fear will be the barrier that we can never breakthrough.
