Howdy Now, how do you think? (Free verse) by FreeFormFixation
Howdy Now put out a fire with his teeth,
scraped them all
straight across
burning buildings and streets.
Yeah,
Howdy Now's voice was all slippery and sweet
like a cherry drop plopped in your drink.
Then:
Howdy Now builds on your room while you sleep,
so you wake
in a corridor
covered in sheets,
with a tag
round your toe
like an old Christmas wreath.
Let's all shout out to Howdy Now,
How do you think?
"Shoot out your compliments,
roll in your condiments.
Covered in flavor
you ask for a favor.
Oh, Howdy Now,
how do you like what you see?
Is it more like a throne,
a bit less like a seat?"
Well...
Howdy Now put on a play with his feet,
grabbed an up-
turned umbrella
and bent out a speech.
Yeah,
Howdy Now's songs were all gold eggs and glee
like a bankroll unfolded for free.
Then:
Howdy Now ground down a knife with his teeth,
so it's not
quite as sharp
(though it stabs just as deep),
with a flag
round the end
like a windsock in Spring.
Let's all shout out to Howdy Now.
How do you think?
"Shoot out your compliments,
roll in your condiments.
Covered in flavor,
you ask for a favor.
Oh Howdy Now,
how do you like what you see?
Is it more like a throne,
a bit less like a seat?"
