10. O Father, Where Art Thou? (Free verse) by A db C
Plumes of asphyxiating fumes,
Artistic vision within the sky.
Looking back upon the carnage,
The wreckage faded out of mind.
Strolling through woodland,
The embankment of the A14,
Casting glances down vistas
And walking into a dream.
Chancing upon stone walls
Where monastery doors opened
Within, to greet, to me.
Time rippled as I fell in.
Levitating like acquinas at the alter
And heeding advice from a wooden cross,
Gladly inspired to evoke natural law
From the Lords soothing eternal words.
Falling to one knee then released
Into the woods by the A14,
To return to human failings,
To forget about everything I had been.
