For What Its Worth (Other) by Blue Magpie
Love well this earth,
as I am sure you do,
the endless rhymes and rhythms of rebirth,
the intricate precision of her crew.
In her we have been blessed
and who can say what such a blessingâs worth?
There is great beauty in her varied climes,
the passages and cycles of her times,
and I suspect, that in respect
I should more frequently have stressed
how perfectly sheâd formed
how well sheâs dressed
and with what wondrous jewelry sheâs adorned.
Love well this earth
if you would do whatâs best.
In her we have been blessed
and who can say what such a blessingâs worth?
There is great joy for those who take the time
to understand her constancy and change,
the wonder and the subtlety sublime
of energy and matter interchange,
the stillness and the mad chaotic flow
of time, of life, of water and of air
passing endlessly through all the things that grow.
And there is peace in learning how to care.
Love well this earth
for if you have not guessed
in her we have been blessed,
and who can say what such a blessingâs worth?
