Wood Grain Secert (Free verse) by Rlee
I'm Staring at wood grain trying to find a Secret. Thump, thump, the breath of my heart I hear Concentrate Little white pills make it all too real What would the neighbors say? When they hauled her body away ------Grey Concentrate I'm Staring at wood grain trying to find the Secret Round, round, the little white bottle spins Returning to middle--Is it me? Black hole, euphoric space, please Andromeda Say Grace-that's all I need Sending off my little white passengers onto their internal travel Concentrate I'm Staring at wood grain trying to find the secret Drip, Drop, the Liquid words drown in my ear Fallen down, Cold linoleum shocks me clear I have no sense for another career Harsh light scrubs my eyes raw Drilling the concerned wart of worry My backbone, the wall and I have forgotten how to pray I'm staring at wood grain trying to find my secret.
