Consumed (Other) by Verse2Verse
I will not walk this path you've shown,
Many have tread
While few have grown.
I will not live the life you choose,
For this is mine
These are My shoes.
I drift as the sun keeping my head held high,
You watch me pass
Selfish judging eyes.
One day shall you scream, upon your throne,
Calling to no one
You'll wake up alone.
I've seen your world, much unlike mine,
I laugh with the moon
While you fight against time.
I shift through the flames left in your wake,
This is my life to live
Not yours to take.
Long may you run through the dimly lit days,
Yourself in thought
Stepping out of the haze.
Clearing your mind by starting within,
Unheard of, unstable
While the sky holds your chin.
There's still roads to change and clarity at will,
Nothing that is learned
Something instilled.
Materialism, and the anchor that be,
Consider it blindness
Sunk deep in the sea.
So, off may you go and oft may you seek,
The hearts true shape
Hidden layers beneath.
Free will you be that fine sunny day,
When as I pass by
You see us the same.
