The Day Wendy Punched My Horse in the Gills (Free verse) by Enkidu
Today the sky ate the trout. He screamed through his retainer. The lookout woke up after A fourteen second nap. He tried to turn his bagel, But it wouldn't turn. All the grandmothers gathered In the town square: kickboxing, wearing bleached jeans, angry. Christmas burned down with A lovely mare watching the Champagne flow. She coughed loudly and twice. Wendy walked slowly up behind herself. She tapped her cows on the hooves, But she couldn't stop snickering. It was a bad case of the giggles. So I told her about the trout and the sky And she said she saw the mammal. So she hit him hard and twice; Right in his gills. But sadly, it was my horse. She never apologized.
