Silence (Free verse) by crooked_smile
Sometimes talking is over rated Words haplessly spewed forth With no real meaning or care They are fuzzing up the screen, making the messages hard to under stand Mother nature; she doesn’t need talk She doesn’t say a word As she paints the backdrops to our lives Yet her messages are clear Clearer that any message that we have haplessly spewed forth She doesn’t need words to tell you, As you flop down in the field and close your eyes That you are happy, content and that everything is right The soft warm grass, and insects in their dirt kingdoms and palaces The light breeze and radiating sunlight gently caressing your face This is all she needs She hasn’t said a word and yet We all understand She doesn’t need to vocalize to you the fact That as you run bare foot through the dew and grass with only the suns last rays to guide you That you are feeling rejuvenated and innocent and full of life The damp grass that is deep green and cool to the touch and lush and full and soft This is all she needs She hasn’t said a word and yet We all understand She doesn’t need to talk to you let you know That as you sit on the gray rock by the quiet river That you are happy and peaceful and feeling one with the earth The trees with their thousands of leaves that are green The coolness of the world, the scent of a damp earth, the placidness of the water This is all she needs She hasn’t said a word and yet We all understand
