Last Vein (Lyric) by wilco
Sink deep, the needle to the last vein; Take it all, it’s better than the real thing. They lied and said that it would be okay. Hold tight, the water’s getting deeper. Genuflect and pray the lord to keep her and let the flood take you away. (Chorus) I’ll bury my head in your arms. Don’t let it burn anymore. Discarnate, sinking in the floorboards; Love shakes, and baby, how you want more. How does it feel to be a slave? There’s the flash, just a little brighter. Those chains feel a little lighter, but I’ll stay until the debt’s been paid. I’ll bury my head in your arms. Don’t let it burn any more. (Bridge) You’re the same today and you’re never going to change. They’ll take it away. They’ll make it all okay. You’re dying again and you’re better off this way.
