Life (Free verse) by that_funny_girl
And I was thinking the other night
when I was staring at my ceiling
pretending to try to fall asleep,
you know when people tell you
life is tough?
Well, all things being relative,
compared to what?
Death, I suppose
is what one might reply with,
but then again life, is an equally suitable response
since no life is the same.
All in all though
life is just as easy as it is tough,
wouldn't you agree.
We all have our hardships
some more than others.
And since no one,
save those few, who
supposedly
have died, seen the light, and then come back
to tell us all about it,
knows what it is like to die,
we can't very well judge how hard it is.
And since no one, save those
who claim to have been others in past lives,
can judge how tough
one life is compared
to another.
Wouldn't it be easier
then
to just
take off all the modifiers?
Because in the end what is life
really?
Well, I would say
it's living, ainât it?
