The death of the damsel (Free verse) by luzrheroguy
Its fatal, she said its no use
I've caught the virus written on your lips
And he looked down at her knew that this was finished
These battles fought in vain, and she said
Come again... Come again...
Don't you dare let this be the end
Come again... Come again...
He clutched her close to his chest
And he sang to the dying damsel
The words, I'm sorry we can't be together
But I'm afraid that I have failed you in these endevors
Tonight you're leaving this town forever
She coughed and said, Come again...
Come to me, and let this be the end
Lay your head in my lap, as the cold sets in
I'm not finished yet, Come again...
Don't you dare let this be the end
He looked at her, but he knew
That it was down to now or never
The darkness set in as her cuts were still bleeding
He watched her knowing that she would not rise
And he lied ever so sweetly, to the both of them
He sang the words, I'll come again, and again
So long as this is not the end
Don't you dare let this be the ending
She closed her eyes, and kissed him softly
Before life left her form
He held her tightly and to himself he swore
This is not the ending... I will come again
Don't you dare call this the ending
I will come again... No this is not the end
He slid the mask back over his eyes
Laid her still form down across the rooftop
And bid his fallen lover farwell
