It (Free verse) by Spindle
I shiver at the thought of It A frightening thing It is How could something so twisted Find the means to live? A pathetic little lump of flesh Immune to all who care Shredding kind words to shards of hate To slice Its own soul bare Blind It is to an outstretched hand Seeing only an impending slap "Take the hand" I begged of It But It only saw a trap How can I love such a wretched thing? How did this come to be? Though I know not why, I know my place is To hold and comfort Me.
