Last Kiss (Free verse) by rnsbreeze
As she woke and strolled out to the living room
Her hair swayed with every bounce and step.
She looked lovely and I could not remove my eyes.
Her scent filled the room with subtleness and my senses were filled,
Our eyes met and I looked into bottomless pools
That danced with light like the shimmers on a pond,
Filled with every color of the spectrum that even a painter would have
difficulty
describing.
She drew near and I could feel her breath on my cheek
Soft and gentle but with a heat that fired my desire,
Our lips grew closer and gently touched.
A touch so soft, like the butterfly landing on a rose petal
Then closer and with a passion that would have made Don Juan green with
envy
We embraced and I felt our souls uniting.
One with her and she one with me
Neither knowing or caring where one started or stopped.
Slowly, ever so slowly the kiss parted and I felt as if my life had been
taken,
She leaned close to me and whispered the words I never wanted to hear.
With brute force, reality took hold and I realized that this would be
our last kiss
