my summer thanks to you (Free verse) by New Life Drug
"Tell a secret about yourself,"
she asked, and this is what I wrote
I like to sit on my roof
and watch melon skies fade to dark
In the light of the moon
and in the warmth of summer ending
I think about you
I sit looking at my life
like it's a dying city
I've set my hurdles high
but if I get a running start
then I can clear it all
Did you know, when we get rid of all the lights
its amazing how many stars there are
The notes fall softly on my guitar
and I just sing along
Of all the cars and houses
and lawns set before me
I never imagined them moving
All I can picture is this open window
and you climbing inside
