Fear (Free verse) by Mona Lisa
I am frightened now To awake to happy people Who walk high and proud As I am falling invisibly, Voluntarily. But when I fall I will be known For maybe a week Or a New York Minute. I will be King King of chit chat over caffeine Why's and if only's, And the sparrow's wing I nurtured Will try to fly bravely, But break it's neck inches from the nest. I'm so fucking tired seeking Galilee, Just want to help the sparrow But what about my family? What about tomorrow? Tomorrow can wait, For there's a sunset to share with loneliness, And a warm wind to dry my eyes I'll pretend it's an Angels breath, As I write my goodbyes to welcome death.
