In prison I live, (Free verse) by donmiguel1960
In prison I live, walls thick and so tall. Guards posted in towers, watch as I crawl. I live all alone a prisoner in flight. Fearing to face the day’s morning light Sockets so deep, with sadness and grief. I weep with great sorrow, for a crushed fallen leaf. A prison of death where there is no escape. The illusion of freedom can never take shape. A prison of love that can never be known. A heart that is useless as cracks in a stone.
