Goodby says it all (Free verse) by Amber
I regret the fact that none could see
The beauty and love that was hidden in thee.
Though sadness swells, and in depression you dwell,
I can't help but wonder if we could ever see
Within the heart of a person to any degree
And make a valid judgement on spirit and soul.
For the authority of this none have the role.
I would not condemn these walls of yours
Because life is cruelly slamming doors.
Windows shatter and cloth is torn,
But the security of a wall is eternally born.
They will always be adorned with precious memories,
Beauty and grace.
Items of love, such as curtains of lace
Will decorate your heart's resting place.
I am sometimes infuriated by the things you say,
But after reading one of the poems of your day,
I understand that what I see is a shell.
That your real self is hidden well.
I have come to respect the man I know through your hand.
But the statement you left me I do not understand.
If you must, truly, say Goodby,
Then I must say that GOOD is a lie.
