how bad is this (Free verse) by keatsImnot
OTT
My darling please be brave and do not cry.
I've met the consequence of martial life.
A soldiers lot to fight, to kill, to die.
His body fuel to feed the flames of strife.
I fought for peace, a noble sacrifice.
I gave my life to keep my country free.
I knew the cost of war and paid it's price.
My fragile frame a fracion of that fee.
Tomorrow morning just before the dawn.
Its OTT two hundred yards to make.
A thousand weeping widows left to mourn.
Their hero husbands, God for pities sake!
I've winessed all there is to know of war.
Each vision soaked my senses through and through.
I've smelt the stench, felt the pain and saw.
The vilest deeds humanity could do.
I pray to God that when this war is done.
The world will see the error of it's way.
And never look for peace with loaded gun.
But live in peace forever and a day
