On January's Terms (Free verse) by coffeespoons
The trees are knit by ice in circles, moonshine over all. I walk and cannot see my breath for cold, and brightly fall. Branches lit and coldly coated glitter blue and yellow light, all is blue on grass and snow, and quiet in the night. All is glass and I am glass, see-through and fragile, suddenly. See through myself, realizing that I miss you sitting next to me. I miss you like I never thought I could. And this revealed when I am lonely in the cold Stirring slow with cinnamon I wish that you were near me, outside the trees click creak and crack as I am wandering. Frozen-sealed inside the leaves are still and I am still and same though changing. Orion moves above the sky, the moon reveals the season. All is glass and I am glass and clearer for our parting. I never felt to say ‘I love’ but Love, with me come walking.

Down the ladder: it's damp after closing
