The whole story (Free verse) by kawakurdi
The whole story
It was a heated discussion: Does God exist or not?
We were all self-proclaimed philosophers talking in abstracts that made
no sense.
And there was this ordinary woman friend
Never interested in theology or sophistry
Having listened passively for some time without participation.
Suddenly said in a calm voice:
âWhat are you talking about?
Each one of us is our own God and our own prophetâ.
She didnât say any more.
The band continued the abstract argument
As if nothing were articulated.
But there was an inspired dream in my heart.
âYes, sweetheart
We are all our own Gods
And our own prophets
We can convey the message of love or hate.
We can give each other
A piece of paradise
Or an experience of hell
On this earth and beyond there is noneâ
This is the whole story
No more, no less.
