Inevitable (Free verse) by _iamtwilight_
You graze your hand across my breasts but while your fingertips should melt my heart They only seem to burn my chest. I'm almost sure the changing winds replaced our love with negligence. Still everything remains the same, Each of us having the other to blame. I know you still love me, this is so hard to say So quickly my feelings are fading away. Our memories departing, your kisses replaced With suspended romance, such a bittersweet taste. We were together so long, it seems such a waste Why did my heart just stop feeling that way? Your defensive questions of why, where, and when Are making me feel guilty & spiteful, But I can't help but grin. I'm leaving, It's over, there's nothing here for me. Please tell everyone whatever you want, My reputation comes second when its up against love.

Up the ladder: Forever
Down the ladder: Afraid of the dark.
