Midnight (Free verse) by DarkThirteens
Black sounds like breaking glass, a child's cry and a cat's hiss. Black looks like a dead spirit, the flicker of a candle and a burning building. Black smells like a shriveled rose, the defeat of war and broken bones. Black feels like a blood-covered knife, death's kiss, and peircing eyes. Black tastes like poisoned wine, intense heat, and the stroke of midnight.
