Mist (Free verse) by Sam
Listless, rekindling the warmth the bed had provided The tender repose it has been that night in your embrace, Which I believed was you or at least that is how I perceived But it was a plain old substitute to the burning deep inside. I crouch myself to someone else’s arms the other night To warm the cold running through my body in remembrance of you. Every minute away from your caress seemed eternal and dead And that forever is a long distant mile I have to travel alone. Exhaustion of my body keep growing evergreen and yielding And its flower just needed the quenching of the rain. But the mist that settles in the ground of the one who thirsts Was provided by someone else’s morning.

Up the ladder: featherlight hands
Down the ladder: Forgotten Strokes
