Interest and Association (Free verse) by MacFrantic
Rock and roll ain't what it used to be A hard days work is all tic-tech and cash money If only bread rose like you do girl Imagine a cloudy day in paradise Yeah right… I'm not stopping for anyone but time "Nirvana or bust," words from my other half Dialogue; no… monologue with a half moon Don't call me crazy from the other side of the fence Tell me what it's like and I'll tell you how it is If you keep cryin' I might just love you longer Try me because I've got no where left to go Just you and me baby my two favorite parts of "us." So if it's all high and mighty, what's left is lost And inside your mind I'll guess you're dancing 'Cause all dolls have faux faces and a cold crux But the last thing I want to relive is love

Up the ladder: deliberate
Down the ladder: take a jump with me

S'almost a swinging twenties style applied to an eighties era. I like how you desribe things - the adjectives and metaphores - and the twisted structure behind the words.

It's the kind of poem you expect to be read by a slick voice through thick lips. Slant rhyme, and all that jazz.
