How It Is (Free verse) by heartlessempath
Fly me to the moon, dear
I want to be closer to the stars
and away from the cluttered scum here
on Earth, where it's all about poverty, prostitution,
progress, and preventing disease and overthrowing dictators
We've got no more great artists, they all
fell into the gutters and got drunk on the low
lives they saw there. Nothing is beautiful
it's all been reproduced and given to the populace
on plastic plates. Why should I go to a museum when I can see it on
the web, where society is stuck, because there's no soul in art?
Everyone is discrediting Di Vinci, 'cause that was the
Dark Ages, what did they know?
Spirituality is bought right off the shelves in
WaldenBooks, where bright eyed neophytes are seduced
by hardcover books with color pictures and small
font they will never read all of.
And that's how it is, because you know all you
need to know from reading the bold text and
the summaries of life.
