My Night on July 4th (Free verse) by ~incarnate~
Fireworks display, highlight of the day Philosophy passes in conversation between two half-drunk, sweat-covered people or so one thought. My first July 4th celebration Independence of America a chance for me to see the way it's celebrated here "...and I'm proud to be an American" who wouldn't? Impaired, stoned, pissed, timid in one second. Live and let live you fend for you. On someone's cell phone screaming at the top of my lungs "Dude, where's my car?"

Up the ladder: Irony
Down the ladder: summer heat blues
