How does your chance happen so fast? Why is the window only open for a moment, Yet you wait a lifetime for the breeze? You are thrown off guard, disoriented, Deflated without warning. The almost hurts so much. He wants more than you are and left Before he ever knew you. Somehow he managed To be branded on your soul. He is the template You always imagined love would be. The almost has left a lump in your throat And tears in your eyes; So hollow, so empty. As much a part of you as your love for him. He had what he was looking for and loved you, Almost.
