Star Bright (Free verse) by x311
Rising...setting Day in...day out Do you even take notice Of the time passing you by? Tomorrow rolls in Before you know it, it's flown by Do you even realize What you are missing today? Cutting yourself off Isolated you stay I hate seeing you this way, So open up and take my hand Like that bright star in the sky I see a glimmer in your eye Don't hide it, you're burning out Exploding supernova You want...so much To be...so great With all of your lofty goals You beat yourself down Beyond your outward smiles You wear a deep frown From my life You have almost disappeared Why do you do this? It's just as I had feared I missed you again today Waiting here with an open hand Grab it and take hold, I'll break you away I won't let go of you, trust in me today Like that bright star in the sky I see a glimmer in your eye Don't hide it, you're burning out Exploding supernova Trust in me... Trust in yourself... --Rick Gebhardt 11/17/2002

I quite like this...it's not so depressing, but yeah, it's cool. I don't think that you'll get a good vote from poetandknowit, somehow.
