The Window (Free verse) by Roisin
Your window is fastened keeping the cold inside. The curtains are drawn tightly like closed eyelids locking out light. Outside in the heady street your child watches the window in solemn silence, as if he knows that behind it you lie in a long and rigid slumber.

Up the ladder: Sins of your father
Down the ladder: Forbidden
