Why? (Free verse) by martysmiles Why do people stare?
Am I a fright?
Why do they say mean things?
Have I offended them?
What do they mean when they say, 'You don't deserve to live.'?
Have I done something so terribly wrong?
I have never in my life been rude, mean, or done anything to hurt anyone.
I go to church, I read the Bible daily, I spend my time helping others.
I am honest, funloving, smart,caring, compassionate, lovable funloving
and harmless.
Why be so mean to me?
Why all the threats?
Is being gay such a crime?
Why do you want to hurt me?
Can't you see, I'm just a human being!

Falls flat on it's face.
Perhaps people stare, say mean things and do all the other actions mentioned in your poem because your poetry is so bad. Have you ever considered that? Hmmm? You score 0.
Lacking in power. It makes a damn good point, but any passing homophobes'll just read it, shrug their shoulders and go on much the same as before. Good effort though.
Maybe they stare because they read the Bible, too?

you said funloving, and yes being gay is a crime if you try to obey the bible
