Another Modern Myth (Free verse) by D. $ Fontera
Poor adonis, lift your head Gaze upon this morning's ruinous ascent Bring the fire into focus Gasp, seethe, shout, and roar Tear the veil from before you Poor adonis, rage Curse the fiction Yank the dawn from its blazing heaven Cower as it falls What have you done? What haven't you? Oh but to act on pride Challenge forgiveness Poor adonis, weep Curse the nightfall For this is your own A hell from faith Where reckless perish thus

Up the ladder: Spellbound
Down the ladder: Damn Georgia Power
