Picture beneath the painting (Free verse) by Caducus
Fridays death
birthed cider and sodomy
and his Indigo brushes
blotted a masterpiece
of tomorrows regret.
Zombie in the dresser mirror,
grimacing kindled her.
Mascara and concealer
painted over lies,
beautifully covered
In time for tea at Gran's.
Mum poured milk on my cheerios,
she resembled her cameo.
Dad slept sucking his thumb
fists furred red,
by a white gold wedding band
that Grandad wore happily for 49 years.
