Living in Now (Free verse) by searching
Just for awhile, I'll pretend it's all right Drink coffee and laugh and joke into the night But you know in the morning as I lay calm, quiet and still There's no peace in my heart, there's a vacuum to fill. Once again, I'll emerge to seek out my clan I'll hide all my fear and pretend I'm a man But this darkness inside grows large and devours All time in its way - the minutes, the hours. I try hard to escape though demons don't rest I thought I had armor, the sword pierces my chest The illusion is grand, but lacks true protection Reality bites hard, it's time for defection. Do I see it as is or what ought or might be? Is it all about him, about you or just me? The luxury of choice, a ubiquitous decision Life and death; herein, lies our ultimate vision.

Up the ladder: voices on the bus
Down the ladder: Your Forest
