A Teenager's Prayer (Free verse) by enchantingendeavor
Temptations are knocking there outside my door. Lend me the strength to keep my feet on the floor. Don't let me surrender my life for nothing more than a thrill. Show me a friend that doesn't come in a pill. Chase away the people that tell me nothing but lies. Help me to remember when I was nine. Don't let my body inject and surrender my soul. Don't want the poison that's smoked in a bowl. Don't let me jump only they tell me I can fly. My life's barely started... Please help me... I'm not ready to die.

Up the ladder: Letting go
Down the ladder: To Athena
