Love Before Leaving (Free verse) by D. $ Fontera
Come inside I want to say But I've run out of charm today Here's a poem Read it well It speaks the words I dare not tell You're some sunshine That I feel As upon your ground I kneel Loving you Is something knew That's keeping me from feeling blue These metaphors be getting old I shake my head to watch you frown Please don't ponder too much longer For goodness' sake please set it down Leave this place Away we'll flee Where dinner and a movie be And maybe later you may see All the words you mean to me

Up the ladder: Wry Edward's wry smile
Down the ladder: Inoperative Head Mechanism
