Child Shaped Adult (Free verse) by http://mulberryfairy
A child shaped adult
picks an icy beach
for ultimate treasure
Heart shaped rock
Of which sheâs collected dozens
yet her need for heart
remains
Insatiable
Returning to the car
empty-handed save
pink frostbite
Heartless
The muddy pothole
beckons
reveals to her
Heart shaped asphalt
Which she lifts
delicately
Itâs huge!
See?
As the car warms
she fondles it
removing crumbles
Groaning
She regrets
mourns
"I knew my heart would get
Broken"
Right down the middle
she laughs at the
metaphor
Unintended
Her narrow arm pumps
rolls down the window
"Throw It!"
