In the sound of the wind I hear whispering Long silent howls of dispair Borne on gossamer ribbons Through the air In the sound of the night I hear screaming Dreaming cries of loneliness Drifting on fragile wings To nothingness In the sound of the stars I hear anger Great wrenching tears of rage Sliding on silvery strands Through my gilded cage In the sound of the wind I hear forever Hope buried deep within Floating softly on angel wings High above life's din In the sound of the night I hear laughter Dancing through all the tears Bringing life so softly now To all listening here In the sound of the stars I hear living All the sorrow and all the pain Seeking to be the shelter For all lost in the rain In the sound of the wind I hear tomorrow Dreams borne aloft through the sky Whispers of forever keep calling It matters not the how or the why It only matters that we listen
