Cold (Free verse) by Dovina
Fire spat and hissed inside an iron box sun’s rays rejuvenated inside my house and bones Fill her full, he’d told me close her tight damper angled inlet screwed down low blower on, vents open I went upstairs felt the windows’ frost. And there I knew He’d taught me well to manage fire survive a chilly bed and in the end to throw it all away

Up the ladder: Alive at 95
Down the ladder: Together they Fell
